Indiana, PA – On Friday, May 25th Stiffler McGraw employees delivered 2,526 pounds of food to the Indiana County Community Action Program Food Bank.
Stiffler McGraw collected canned goods and non-perishable food items from April 23rd until May 23rd. In addition to the items collected, Stiffler McGraw matched their employee’s monetary donations to go shopping for additional items to boost the amount given to the ICCAP food bank.
The Indiana County Community Action Program Food Bank is a local food bank and program that serves over 6,000 income eligible individuals, which represents roughly 2,500 households, and supplies 17 food pantries in the area. The food bank distributes approximately 797,200 pounds of food annually.
The end of May was of chosen to donate due to children being out of school for summer and it’s usually when donations tend to slow down. Stiffler McGraw wanted to choose a date that would be a greater benefit for those in need of these resources.
“We were very pleased at the amount we were able to donate and contribute to this wonderful program. Knowing that we are helping to make a difference to a local area we serve is gratifying.”
