Project Description: Stiffler McGraw was retained by Towanda Borough in order to perform environmental consulting and testing services in support of the demolition activities at 410-422 Main Street, Towanda Borough, Bradford County, PA. The scope of the services included an asbestos-containing building materials survey, waste characterization sampling, a screening for fluorescent light ballast, universal waste and any additional accumulation waste.
Project Solution: The results of the survey identified asbestos containing materials, light ballast containing PCB's, Fluorescent lamps, mercury containing thermostats, batteries and additional accumulated waste. Waste characterization sampling indicated that building debris did not meet the requirements of a hazardous waste.
Project Results: Stiffler McGraw prepared specifications for the removal of hazardous materials from the building prior to demolition. Stiffler McGraw coordinated the removal of hazardous materials
