Location: Blair County, PA
Project Description: Completion of a wetland survey for the potential sale and development of the site. The site consisted of 122 acres.
Project Solution: Wetlands are a federally protected natural resource and adverse impacts to wetlands, including the destruction or loss of wetlands must be avoided where possible. Furthermore, permits are required to ensure that wetland impacts are minimized where impacts cannot be avoided and permits for encroachments must comply with state and federal environmental requirements.
Project Results: The results of the wetland survey identified eight wetland areas consisting of an approximate 6.2 acres of wetlands throughout the northern and southern portion of the site. Hydrologic regimes including Homers Cap Run, intermittent streams and one pond were also identified.
