Anthony Guizio has joined the Stiffler McGraw team as a Senior CAD Technician working out of the Hollidaysburg office. Guizio served more than 3 years in the United States Air Force and comes with 17 years of experience in surveying, highway design, and CAD design. He will be assisting with design in land development and transportation, as well as, assisting the survey department.

Joshua Minor joins Stiffler McGraw as a Technician who will be working out of the Hollidaysburg office. Minor holds his Associates Degree in Architectural/Civil: CAD Design and Technology from Penn Highlands Community College. He will be performing construction inspection for projects, as well as, assisting with project design.

James Meikrantz recently joined Stiffler McGraw as a Sr. Technician. Meikrantz holds his Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, Altoona and comes to the firm with 13 years of experience. He will be working on construction inspection and assisting with project design in the Towanda office.

Christopher Burkey recently joined Stiffler McGraw as a Sr. Technician. Burkey graduated from Greater Johnstown Area Vo-Tech and comes to the firm with over 26 years of experience. He will be performing construction inspection for projects out of the Hollidaysburg office.

Romagna and Brian D. Shura.

JoelRomagnaJoel E. Romagna, P.E. has been with the firm since 2006 serving as a Project Engineer/Designer and is currently overseeing operations at the firm’s Warren County office. Mr. Romagna holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. He is responsible for design, bidding, construction management/administration, and securing of permits for numerous municipal infrastructure and site development projects as well as serving as client liaison for various municipalities and authorities throughout Pennsylvania.

BrianShuraBrian D. Shura, P.E. joined Stiffler McGraw in 2005 as a Project
Engineer/Designer. Mr. Shura is responsible for design, securing of permits, grant
and loan administration, construction management/administration, and client liaison in the firm’s water/wastewater treatment division. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Shura has also been responsible for numerous land development projects and is the company’s lead engineer on issues dealing with Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems, (MS4’s).

With the addition of these two gentlemen, 11 shareholders are included in the ownership of Stiffler McGraw.

LJMr. Seidel has been employed with Stiffler McGraw since January 2011 and has experience in hydrology and hydraulics, site engineering, roadway design and soil erosion and sedimentation control procedures. He began his career in land development, but has transitioned to the design and project management of water and wastewater projects.

Firm Holds Three Month SMArt Living Wellness Challenge

Hollidaysburg, PA – Stiffler McGraw a full service consulting firm offering civil engineering, surveying and architectural design services, recently implemented a three month wellness challenge that ran from September 2nd until November 24th.

The wellness program, called SMArt living, was developed to incorporate a healthier living style among all employees. The program was designed to have accountability, motivation and morale amongst the offices.

The challenge consisted of who lost the most body fat percentage as a team with the incorporation of three different weigh-ins. The first weigh-in was to calculate everyone’s beginning weight and body fat percentage to get a starting point. On October 14th there was a mid weigh-in, which was designed to keep everyone on track until the end, with an incentive in place to the team who was in the lead. The final weigh-in was held on November 24th to calculate the final the numbers.

Among 72 employees, the firm had a total of 24 employees’ signup for the challenge!  Of the 24 employees, six teams of four were created to keep each person accountable during the challenge.

To keep the participants motivated and to stay on track throughout the duration of the competition, weekly e-mails were sent out on healthy eating habits and exercising tips.

The winning team was Team #2 who consisted of Tim Cooper, Scott McEldowney, Jeff Kneidinger and Dave Houser with a total of 11.9% body fat loss. They all received 8 hours of vacation for coming in first place. Team  #3 who consisted of Cory Gehret, Kelly Boyles, Tim Campbell and Rodney Jenkins had a total of 10% body fat loss where they all received a $50 gift card and Team #1 who consisted of Courtney Seidel, Trisha Gerlach, Brian Endler and Jeff Spencer had a total of 8.9% body fat loss where they are each received a $25 gift card.

Due to the overwhelming success, Stiffler McGraw will be implementing another wellness challenge in January 2016.

Stiffler McGraw Joins Blair County Corporate Fitness Challenge

 Hollidaysburg, PA- Stiffler McGraw, a full service consulting firm offering complete civil engineering, surveying and architectural design services, recently joined the Blair County Corporate Fitness Challenge.  The challenge will begin on January 4, 2016 and run through April 1, 2016.

The Blair County Corporate Fitness Challenge has been divided into three divisions; Northern, Central and Southern. Each division will have a champion who will receive a trophy to display on-site for one year, until the next challenge. The winner of the overall competition will be announced April 24th, on the field at the Altoona Curve game.

Throughout the three-month period, challenge calculations will take place at the beginning, middle and end, with a grand total of five weigh-ins. The calculations will be based on simple BMI measurements and other scaled measurements that take into consideration the varied fitness levels of individual participants.

In addition to the corporate challenge, Stiffler McGraw has created internal teams to keep each person accountable during the challenge. At each weigh-in, the company has decided to reward the team in the lead with incentives to maintain motivation. The firm has 32 individual participants divided into 8 teams of 4. Due to the success of the participants in the first internal challenge, the firm had eight additional employees step up to the plate.

This challenge was designed to help create healthier employees, exhibit increased self-esteem, and to help provide the businesses with a more productive workforce, as well as, improved working attitudes.

7th Annual Engineers Competition

Hollidaysburg, PA– Stiffler McGraw, a full service consulting firm offering civil engineering, surveying and architectural design services, is pleased to announce they competed against other engineering firms in the area by collecting donations for the American Rescue Workers (ARW) for the seventh year.

The 7th Annual Engineers Fight to CAN Hunger competition officially began on February 1st and ran through National Engineer’s Week; February 21st through February 27th.  During this time frame, the participating engineering firms collected donations from employees and any cash donations received was put towards a shopping trip to purchase more items.

The food collected was delivered to the American Rescue Workers on Friday, February 26, 2015. Each firm’s donation was loaded on a pallet jack and weighed. The winner was determined by dividing the firm’s number of employees into the weight; the firm with the highest weight per employee won.  This year’s winner was McLanahan Corporation with a total of 6,192 pounds collected with 187.64 pounds per employee.

This year’s competition involved, Stiffler McGraw, Keller Engineers, Gwin, Dobson and Foreman, McLanahan Corp. Admin & Engineering, P. Joseph Lehman and PennDOT District 9. The competition is formed to help those in our community who need it most.  All firms participating are here to make a difference, give generously and help those in our community who need it most.

Hollidaysburg, PA- Stiffler McGraw, a full service consulting firm offering civil engineering, surveying and architectural design services,  today announced the release of the new and improved website, stiffler-mcgraw.com. This newly redesigned website offers quick and easy access to essential information and features projects and services in a more innovative way tailored to the client’s needs.

The new website was re-designed to become more user friendly for viewers with easier navigation. The result is a fresh, new look with streamlined information and more updated content for our projects and services. We have also changed how the standardized menu structure will appear. Now users accessing the platform are able to easily navigate to find what they are looking for. To enhance our company voice, we have added a press release and events section to help clients keep up to date with current trends within Stiffler McGraw. At a later date, the firm will be implementing a quarterly newsletter that will also be distributed via e-mail through signing up on the website.

Mr. McGraw first started with Stiffler McGraw as a Civil Engineering Intern during the summer of 2015. During this time, he assisted with cost estimations, permitting, preliminary plan designs, wetland delineation, surveying and inspection.

After graduating from University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Mr. McGraw recently joined the firm as a Project Designer. He will be working in the Treatment Division, out of the Hollidaysburg office, assisting in the overall design of projects through the preparation of plans, permits and other materials related to the completion of the job.

In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, employees chose a day to wear pink to show their support for those who have been affected by breast cancer and to contribute to raising awareness.

Stiffler McGraw also made a donation of 500 dollars to Girls Night Out Altoona, Inc. President of Girls Night Out Altoona Inc., Juls Reighard-Bratton, accepted the check on behalf of the organization.
Girls Night Out helps local men and women who have been affected by breast cancer. All proceeds benefit breast cancer research and underinsured patients. Stiffler McGraw was proud to contribute to such a wonderful organization.

During this time frame, the participating engineering firms collected donations from employees and any cash donations received was put towards a shopping trip to purchase more items.

The food collected was delivered to the American Rescue Workers on Friday, February 24, 2017. Each firm’s donation was loaded on a pallet jack and weighed. The winner was determined by dividing the firm’s number of employees into the weight; the firm with the highest weight per employee won. This year’s winner was McLanahan Corporation with a total of 5,671 pounds collected with 195.55 pounds per employee.

This year’s competition involved, Stiffler McGraw, Keller Engineers, Gwin, Dobson and Foreman, McLanahan Corp. Admin & Engineering and P. Joseph Lehman. The competition is formed to help those in our community who need it most. All firms participating are here to make a difference, give generously and help those in our community who need it most.
