SHAMOKIN VALLEY RAILROAD BRIDGE 14.93 REHABILITATION PROJECT – SEDA-COG JOINT RAIL AUTHORITY

The SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority (JRA) is seeking bids from qualified contractors for rehabilitation of Bridge 14.93 on the Shamokin Valley Railroad in Shamokin and Ralpho Townships, Northumberland County, PA. The rehabilitation project involves constructing a temporary approach span with two temporary support structures, constructing a new concrete abutment, replacing the top portion of two stone masonry piers with concrete caps, installing new timber deck ties and significant channel maintenance.
The Sealed Bids will be received by Mr. Jeffery Stover, Executive Director, SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority, 201 Furnace Road, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania 17837 until 12:00 P.M. local prevailing time on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Proposals shall be on the forms required, sealed and clearly marked SHAMOKIN VALLEY RAILROAD BRIDGE 14.93 REHABILITATION PROJECT and submitted at the SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority Office, 201 Furnace Road, Lewisburg, PA 17837. Bids that are faxed or emailed cannot be accepted.
Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form.
Digital copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained from Stiffler, McGraw & Associates, Inc. Contact Jason Shura, P.E. at (814) 696-6280 or email@example.com to request a digital copy of the Contract Documents. Payment for the Contract Documents will be $50.00, including sales tax and shipping costs. Digital copies are available in PDF format and will be transmitted through a secure FTP site. All checks should be made payable to Stiffler McGraw & Associates, Inc. Deposit is non-refundable. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2020, beginning at 10:00 A.M. local prevailing time at the bridge site. It is noted this meeting may, at the discretion of SEDA COG Joint Rail Authority, be delayed if the current stay-at-home order issued by the Governor’s office is extended beyond May 14. All plan holders will be contacted and provided a new date no later than Tuesday, May 12, 2020 if the meeting is rescheduled. Interested parties should contact the Engineer prior to the meeting to confirm date and time.
